Parish Calendar Meeting

A meeting to discuss the Parish Worship and Major Events Calendar for 2020. January 26th at noon in the chapel. All are welcome to attend.

Where have the Alleluia's gone?

Many have noticed that the Alleluias are no longer listed in the bulletin at the dismissal. The reason for this is that we are seeking to be faithful to the Book of Common Prayer's rubrics which state, "From the Easter Vigil through the Day of Pentecost "Alleluia, Alleluia" may be added to any of the dismissals." While saying the Alleluias has been a "tradition" at St. John's, this is not taught at seminary or schools for the diaconate. We realize this is a hard change for many, but ask that everyone be open to our desire to faithfully teach - especially newcomers - the varied seasons within the Episcopal Church.   We will look forward to the Easter season when the Alleluias return.

A New Way to Give

Introducing Abundant.  Abundant will provide the convenience of not having to write a check and let you do your church giving online.  It's very simple. Just go to:

or text:  stjohnsky to 73256.

You'll be able to make your pledge, a one time gift, scheduled gifts, or a non-pledge contribution. You can also give a gift to the flower guild, rector’s discretionary fund, reading club, etc. You'll also have the option of paying the Vanco processing charge - just click the box.

If you need assistance feel free to see Ann Miller or Cory Curl before and after church or come by the church office Monday-Thursday.

This is an optional convenience for the parish. If you want something to put in the offering plate there are cards to fill out with your name and date available at the back of the main church and on the table outside of the  chapel that say: I Give Online. Thank you for your support of the many ministries of St. John’s.
