Our Rector

Fr. Alan Sutherland was born in Middlesbrough, England. He was ordained a Priest in 1981. After Assistant Rectorships in the Diocese of York and Atlanta, and an 8 year Rectorship in Arkansas, he came to Kentucky. He served  Emmanuel Winchester for 9 years before coming to St John’s in 2004.

Coaching soccer and working with young people is something Alan loves. He is a frequent leader for spiritual retreats in the Diocese. He has served in several capacities as Hospice Chaplain. Community outreach in the form of Repair Affair and the Ministerial Association are areas of focus as our Rector.

Fr. Sutherland and his wife Judi live on the river at Clifton and love Versailles and Woodford County.
